DSOBA Tennis Tournament and Luncheon

                                           DSOBA TENNIS TOURNAMENT AND LUNCHEON
                                                      September 6-7 and 13-14, 2014

Dear DSOBA Members,

This year’s tennis tournament is finally here.

In order to make the event more enjoyable, to accommodate more players of different levels, we have decided to depart from our previous format:

  • The Tournament will be held in September in hope for more amenable weather conditions
  • Taking advantage of the newly resurfaced flood-lit courts, all matches this year will be played at DBS
  • Instead of the Cup and Plate events, we would like to introduce an open category and a “B or below” player category. We will decide on the final category/ format choices depending on the number and mix of participants. We hope this will encourage more players from different levels to participate
  • A lunch will be offered on September 6 for players, families or anyone at all who just want to enjoy the day with us

Details of the event are as follows:

PARTICIPANTS:Open to all DSOBA members
DATE/TIME:September 6, 7, 13, 14 for all events, from 09:00 – 22:00
PLACE:Diocesan Boys’ School Tennis Courts
SYSTEM OF PLAY:(Could be subject to change depending on number of entries)
All preliminary matches will be played on an 8 games pro-set with no deuce and tie-breaker at 8 all
Semi-finals and finals will be played on best of 3 sets with tiebreaker at 6 all
RULES:International rules of tennis will govern all matches
ENTRY FEE:Tennis competition: HK$100 per category per person (excluding lunch)
PRIZE-PRESENTATION CEREMONY:Date and venue to be confirmed
DEAD-LINE FOR ENTRY:15 August 2014, entries will be accepted on a first-come-first served basis

As further information regarding format and schedule of play will be announced by email to all participants, please provide us with your email address and mobile contact.

Sincerely yours,
