DBS – Memorial Service notice

A Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock will be held at Diocesan Boys’ School at 2:00pm (School Hall) on Saturday, 18th February, 2012. The Service is open to all members of the DBS family. Owing to the limited capacity of the hall, the seating arrangement will be on a first come, first served basis.

Free Shuttle Bus Service

Kindly refrain from driving as no parking will be allowed. Free shuttle bus service is available to pick up guests from Prince Edward and Kowloon Tong MTR Station to DBS. (Please refer the the announcement on 7th February 2012 for details)

There will be no return shuttle bus. Guests can depart through the Main Drive in Argyle Street or the Steps in Prince Edward Road.

Live Streaming Broadcast

The live broadcast of the Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock can be viewed on the school website (www.dbs.edu.hk) . An edited video version of the Service will also be available here shortly afterwards.

MEMORIAL SERVICE
A CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF SYDNEY JAMES LOWCOCK, MBE JP (1930-2012)
DBS Headmaster 1961-1983

The Diocesan Boys’ School and her extended community mourn the loss of Mr. S.J. Lowcock – An infinitely loving, benevolent, wise, caring and selfless leader.

Mr. Lowcock passed away peacefully at 1:43pm on 26 January 2012 with his family, colleagues and students by his side. May he find eternal peace in the Lord and may the Lord embrace Mr. Lowcock with His loving arms.

Mr. Lowcock’s legacy will live on in every DBS boy’s heart. All Diocesan boys, past and present, will continue to uphold and perpetuate Mr. Lowcock’s undefiled heritage. Memorial Service for Mr. S. J. Lowcock will be held at Diocesan Boys’ School at 2:00pm (School Hall) on Saturday, 18th February, 2012. The Service is open to all members of the DBS family.

Pick-Up Points
1) Prince Edward MTR Station, Exit B1.Near 1A Bus-stop (See Map 1)
2) Kowloon Tong MTR Station, Exit E (See Map 2)

The bus operates from 12:40 p.m to 2:00 p.m. at 20-minute intervals to the Secondary Division.

Obituary – Mr. Sydney James Lowcock, MBE JP (1930-2012; DBS Headmaster 1961-1983)

Dear Old Boys and Friends of DBS,

SYDNEY JAMES LOWCOCK (former headmaster of Diocesan Boys’ School), loving brother of ALWIN, brother-in-law of AIDA, uncle of BRIAN, SANDRA, KEITH, STEVEN, SUSAN, ANTHONY, BARBARA, PHILIP, PATRICIA and ANDREW, passed away peacefully on 26th January, 2012.

Vigil Service will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home at 7:00pm on 14th February, 2012 and Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Cathedral, Garden Road, at 11am on 15th February, 2012.

Memorial service will be held at Diocesan Boys’ School at 2:00pm on Saturday, 18th February, 2012 (D.B.S. families)

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to “DSOBA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION LTD” and write at the back of the cheque “LOWCOCK FOUNDATION”.
