Dear Christian and non-Christian old boys,
After three humble and warm gatherings of DBS Old Boys’ Christian Union, we are delighted to host our fourth gathering back to our home at DBS on Sunday, November 24, 2013.
During lunch, invited by the Very Revd Samson Fan, Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral, we are honored to have the Headmaster of DBS and old boy of class 83, Mr. Ronnie Cheng (鄭基恩), to join us as the guest speaker and share with us on the topic of “王道與霸道”.

Dear Members, Old Boys and Friends of DBS,
The Inter-School Swimming Finals 2013-14 will be held at the Kowloon Park Swimming Pool on Wednesday, 23 October 2013. The DBS Swimming Team will be all out to defend our glory and trying to be crowned Overall Champion for the 21st consecutive year! The competition will commence at 8.30a.m. and the last event, 4 x 50m Relay, is scheduled to be held at 4.30p.m. Please refer to the links below for details and the lyrics of our cheering song.
As in recent years, the race is likely go down to the wire given the fierce competition from our archrivals. Your presence and support will surely make a difference.

男拔舊生合唱團揚威
【本報訊】拔萃男書院舊生合唱團上周在印尼舉行的「第三屆亞太合唱比賽」中，擊敗18個國家逾百支勁旅，連奪公開組男聲冠軍及公開組全場總冠軍，曾獲國際性指揮家獎項的校長鄭基恩擔任今次合唱團的指揮。
比賽於本月8日至18日在印尼美娜多市舉行，合共有18個國家組成的135支勁旅參加。拔萃男書院今次參賽的舊生合唱團有50人，由20歲至70歲不等，包括多位猛人如香港上市公司商會主席辛定華、富達基金投資部董事謝振邦及上市公司中國生物醫學董事彭中輝等。指揮兼校長鄭基恩指出，獲獎對在校7歲的年幼學生，以至70歲舊生來說均是鼓舞。
男拔小學部在7月，也於英國舉行的國際音樂節Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod兒童組中奪冠。去年中學部合唱隊也在「第七屆『世界合唱比賽』」中的「青年男聲合唱組」奪得世界冠軍。

傳統名校拔萃男書院的舊生合唱團，上周揚威海外，在印尼舉行的第三屆亞太合唱比賽，勇奪公開組男聲冠軍及全場冠軍，認真威水。
呢個比賽並非街坊K 歌大賽，共有18 個國家的135支隊伍參加，男拔舊生會係中國唯一代表，結果在現任男拔校長兼樂團總指揮鄭基恩的帶領下，打低全個亞洲的對手，勇奪雙料冠軍。男拔呢類傳統名校，除了讀書考試叻，亦好注重多才多藝，難怪家長要為子女搏命撲學額。

拔萃男書院嘅合唱團攞過唔少獎，更難得係學生畢業後依然有把靚聲，繼續「唱好」母校招牌。Emily 聽聞，男拔舊生合唱團上星期喺印尼美娜多舉行嘅「第三屆亞太合唱比賽」，擊敗來自18 個國家地區嘅134 隊合唱團，攞到「公開組全場總冠軍」及「公開組男聲冠軍」，作為男拔合唱團指揮嘅校長鄭基恩（箭嘴示）真係飲得杯落。
喺男拔教音樂同英文嘅鄭校長，曾於美國伊利諾伊州大學修讀音樂碩士，2007 年獲國際音樂團體頒發「指揮家獎狀」。
校長督師挫134 隊伍
今次佢親率50 名20 至70 歲嘅舊生獻唱中西樂曲，包括有濃厚中國色彩嘅《垓下曲》，講述楚漢戰爭中項羽一方失勢仍拚死一戰嘅複雜心情，男拔隊伍展現中國音樂嘅深沉同優美打動評判。據悉，呢個比賽被視為亞洲區最重要嘅合唱賽事，男拔係唯一來自中國嘅團隊。（男拔提供）

拔萃男書院舊生及現任校長鄭基恩，擔任是次合唱指揮。他於獲獎後欣慰道「是次獲獎，可說是我們為現時在校及離校舊生，由幼小至7歲到年長至70歲，樹立卓越音樂表現的楷模。」他說，除勇奪桂冠外，這一支由50名、年齡介乎20至70歲的拔萃男書院舊生組成的合唱隊伍，能透過這項比賽，向全世界展現中國音樂的優美及深沉，並成功藉着音樂跨越國界建立友誼。
