Opening Welcome Speech by Alex Ko, President of DBSAC
各位, 你們好!
歡迎來臨DBSAC 50週年晚宴. 2019年是DBS “雙喜臨門” 的一年, 第一當然是DBS的150壽辰, 而第二件喜事則是AC成立的第一個50年周週期. 今次的聚會本來是AC一個 “無嘉賓” 的 “圓桌” 晚宴. 因為大家都是拔萃大家庭的成員, “自己人” . 但經再三考慮後, 我們還是邀請了一些貴賓. 座上的第一位貴賓是我們的第八任校長, Mr. J. Lai.
Mr. Lai 是見證著DBSAC 在1969年誕生, 而他亦是當年的監護人之一.
於1996-97, Mr. Lai 在任期間, 他為DBS創下 “鑽石大滿貫” 的驕人紀錄. 游泳,田徑, Rose Bowl 皆以全勝的姿態在同一個學年產生. 在他任內,亦守護著DBS的傳統 “全人發展” 的教學文化和理念.
我們的第二位貴賓是於千禧年上任成為第九屆校長的 Mr. T. Chang. 他個人精力旺盛, 在任期間 “催出” 兩個新 Houses, 分別為 She & Lowcock House.
他亦允許AC 在2004年樹立了一對玻璃牆,紀錄歷屆校際田徑錦標總成績.
我相信大家都覺得現時的香港社會已進入一個 “大是大非” 的時代, 令大家都有不同的焦慮. 德育,道德教育的標準和尺度都受到前所未有的嚴重考驗和衝擊. 無疑,拔萃的辦學理念中絕對包含了德育的成份. 但在教科書中，道德的定義上是難有劃一的見解.
學校,校長一向都不應該在施政上太困難,亦無需因為怕困難,猶豫不決而退縮.就像我們每天返學一樣,行石級和斜路,我們會怕辛苦而逃學嗎？
拔萃,往往都是在非常時期得到上天的戀顧和恩賜. 早幾年前已經委任一位才華非凡,有智慧,有擔當,有胸襟,有勇氣的校長 Mr. R. Cheng, 為拔萃第10任校長.他亦是我們的第三位貴賓.
他要在非常的時候,瞻前顧後去了解各樣複雜的問題而作出決定. 他以不偏不倚,持平地處理學校所面對“內與外” 的辣手問題.
我本人認為可以身為抜萃的一份子或舊生是一種可貴的緣份. 關注學校每一件事也是很正常的. 拔萃一向都有開放的渠道給予各方面去表達立場和表現關懷的態度. 我相信大家都愛學校,珍惜學校許多普世價值觀. 其中就好像校歌中最後一段,最後一句的歌詞 : Forgiveness for all evil done…
Forgiveness, 在這裏較為恰當的解釋是 “體諒”.
接著,我要歡迎幾位學校主管.
Cho Sir, 曹將軍. 他一向做事都是親力親為,身體力行. 無論在前線或後方,他都是馬不停蹄地支持舊生的活動.
此外,亦要多謝Kenny Yip及Cheng Pun 兩位AC 常任主管, 感謝他們對AC所提供的意見及支援.
Yung Sir, 塑造DBS排球隊在70年代成為”學界排球”霸主,是拔萃排球的 “老祖宗”.
我在此,亦想藉此機會,多謝兩位AC骨幹成員. AC在千禧年初時是比較 “人丁單薄”, “生產力” 最低的時候.多謝此兩位兄台,由當年起,多年來為AC注入最大的正能量. 第一位是 “出口成文”, “下筆成詩”, AC的才子之一 Alexis Wong.
而另一位曾出任AC會長,期間多次回校傳授 “田徑心經大法”. 近來則經常到海外參加比賽,在國際比賽中多次奪得料輝煌成績的 Willie Kung.
Milk Lo, Lo Sir, 有槍王教練的美譽.他大公無私,將生平絕學全部傳受給DB仔,奪獎幾近是壟斷的局面.
Tang Hong Sing, 我們的一代欄王, “星哥”
Simon Yeung博士, 中距離的博士人馬, 巨無霸.
這幾年小弟 “騎劫” 了AC大佬稱號, 今晚真的AC大佬大到場. William Ko. 我的大哥, AC第一任會長.
William 在1986年召開AC第一個高峰會議,當中召集所有退役的田徑隊長參與.他提出和成立AC “最佳運動員” 獎. AC Prize Presentation 舉辦至今. 是次會議亦奠定AC今後50年不變的發展方針.
DSOBA是拔萃舊生精英的集中地,大本營.這幾年的多元化發展下,正邁向第一個 “萬人” 會員目標.
感激OBA多次當AC的田徑受到嚴峻考驗時,在危急關頭的時候,OBA總是AC的 “及時雨”,出手相助.令AC更加萬眾一心,助AC背水一戰,直到凱旋歸來.
歡迎OBA幾位巨頭,包括Jerome-OBA 會長, Daniel 及Bill 到場指導.
我們又得到天大面子,很榮幸邀請到黃河先生今次大駕光臨,參加AC晚宴.
黃河先生是HKMAC重磅持份者,大股東,話事人.他一言九鼎,講完就算.亦有可能是World Master Athletics 的香港幕後大推手.有他參與的田徑事項,大致上都令大家高枕無憂.
今年小弟接觸,拜候兄台不多,所以 “問候得你少”,稍後片刻,再向你 “負荊請罪”,聽你訓話.
南華田徑會,歷史悠久,是香港田徑會中的老大哥.前輩級,頂尖名牌會.比AC還要早幾十年出世,是一個舉足輕重的份量,在田徑界擁有龍頭的地位,而亦是AC的老友記.今次請到南華會的兩位大姐大,”長春樹”,真的有點喜出望外,錦上添花的感覺.
長年長月都能保持狀態大勇的香港短跑皇后,現時已榮升短跑太后- Cecilia Tse.
Alice Lok, 是另一位關鍵人物,HKMAC的幕後大操盤手,駐港公關大使.多謝她多年為HKMAC東奔西跑.使得各方反應熱烈,將項目推進為城中田徑熱潮,亦加劇了許多DBS的老中青遐想空間,視為可”雄風再現”.
這幾年南華會都算對AC網開一面,比AC在Master Meet有立足之地.我希望在今年11月再一次高抬貴手,刀下留人,放AC一條生路行.
Reggie (55年畢業)是AC的 “最有作為”的運動員之一.
Raymond Lee, AC 御用設計師.今年AC所有的精品設計, caps, bags, tee-shirts, banners, 印刷等都由他一手包辦.
每一次有重大的AC活動, 象象都給我吃一些藥-大象牌定心丸.今晚亦不例外,多謝他和Ikki悉心安排今次AC晚宴的所有事項.
DB仔在思想一向都是響往自由,奔放,單純,率真.好奇心大,甚至對發夢都要研究一番.給外人的感覺上是徘徊在 “夢幻”中,不切實際,天馬行空.
相對DB仔的同樣優秀條件.
DGS姊妹們,她們不斷地改良拔萃的基因密碼.頭腦變得更加成熟,她們做事熱衷,果斷,在外交手腕上八面玲瓏,對“機不可失”的課題特別有心得?.素有“劍膽琴心”之稱.今晚歡迎DGS的眾位師妹參與.亦希望將來都繼續參加AC的所有活動.
這幾年DBSAC的發展比預期快,我估計其中的主要原因如下:
1. DBS傳統比較注重同學間的 “情義結”. 也許在這個文化的影響下,孕育每一代的DB仔見面時,都可以自然地交往,談笑風生.我們不分職業,信仰,政治取向,學歷,年紀,出身等等.拔萃是一個 “友誼萬歲”的 “大熔爐”.
2. 校長Ronny對舊生的寬容態度,接立舊生參與學校的活動,無疑在凝聚力起了重大的化學作用,亦為每位DB仔打下強心針.
綜合上述結論,拔萃, DBSAC 事實上是給予我們一個絕對優先條件去發掘自己,發揮自己所長的一個高水準平台.
最後在“空氣中”隆重出場是我們尊敬,難忘,思念的AC “主人翁” Mr. Lowcock. 今日有些較年輕的同學對他年青時的狀況不大清楚.我希望透過我童年時對他的認知,觀感,同大家分享一下.我心目中的他是 高大威猛, 身材健碩,虎背熊腰,孔武有力,我甚至懷疑他是有修練“醉拳”的習慣.他生相眉清目秀,氣宇軒昂,瀟灑倜儻,又文質彬彬,是個動靜皆宜,鐵漢柔情,儒雅君子.
他一生熱愛田徑,我相信無必要重複他對田徑所作出的貢獻.他生前對學生的信任,關懷大家都知道.他甚至會體恤到DGS 的拚博精神,為了獎勵和調劑她們訓練苦悶的心情,當每一年的校際田徑賽事完結後,他便邀請全隊DGS到他家中開party.當然他會挑選一些心理質素的同學迎賓.小弟,我第一份“義工”就這樣開始.

With the increasing competition in the modern society, it is important for our students to deepen their understanding of the vast array of career options and outline their career action plans as early as possible. In order to better equip our students, the Careers Office and DSOBA Career and Education Committee are jointly organizing a job attachment programme for G10 to G12 students in the coming July.
Depending on the available opportunity, each participating student will be attached to a company preferably in the post-examination period from 28 June to 12 July. The duration of the attachment may range from half day to 2 days. The workplace experience can be arranged in various modes to suit different companies. Students may be arranged to tour the job sites and shadow designated staff members as the latter go through their normal daily routines. Simple tasks may be assigned to students.
Through participating in the programme, students can gain hands-on experience and see how their knowledge can be applied in the real world. The experience will certainly provide invaluable insights for students to conduct personal assessment and plan their further studies. We would be grateful if you could offer any workplace experience opportunity to our students and we are confident that students will benefit considerably from any opportunity you offer. Your generous support is pivotal to the success of the programme.
