We held our annual President’s Cup Golf Tournament on March 7, 2008 at the South Course of the Kau Sai Chau golf course. A total of 26 golfers participated with 21 being DSOBA members and 5 being guests.

We had perfect weather for golf, not too sunny with just a light breeze and the temperature was just right. Scoring was based on the New New Preoria format, in which the players’ handicap was calculated according to a formula based on their score on the day.

The winner of the President’s Cup this year was the defending champion of last year, Henry Wong, class of 1954. He shot a gross score of 84. The winner in the net score category is Edward Lau ‘65 with a gross score of 92 and a net score of 69.2. The 1st runner up in the net score category is Henry Wong class 54, gross score 84 and net score 71.2. There was a tie in the 2nd runner up net score category between our David Cheung 82 and guest Ernest Li. David won by count back, with a gross score of 93 and a net score of 71.4
We also gave out lob wedges for 2 closest to pin winners and boxes of golf balls for 2 longest drive winners. Hole number 5 closest to pin winner belongs to Benjamin Fattedad 60. Hole number 11 closest to pin winner is our current DOSBA President, S.A.L. Rahman. Longest drive hole number 9 is won by a guest, Manson Chan. Longest drive hole number 17 was won by Casam Li 78.

To make the event more rewarding to participants, our Vice-president, Desmond Yip donated golf balls with our school logo to every participant and Benjamin and Kasim Fattedah gave out copies of the latest Golf Digest magazine to all.
