DSOBA Music Extravaganza 2015: A Concert to Celebrate a League of Music Heroes

The DSOBA Music Extravaganza is a unique music showcase that brings together Diocesan Boys’ School Old Boys’ of multiple generations to share our passion for music, feature a diverse display of vocal and instrumental talent, and proudly perpetuate our beloved alma mater’s spirit and heritage. Our recipe includes award-winning choirs and orchestras, leading professional and amateur musicians, leaders from diverse industries and professions, age span of six decades. All of that signify absolute devotion and passion. The concert also features music groups from other leading institutions who share our passion for music, fostering an ultimate experience of friendships, cultural exchange, and music excellence.
 

Our 2015 inaugural event’s guest invitees will include alumni from Diocesan Girls’ School (DGS), Heep Yunn School (HYS), and St. Paul’s Co-educational College (SPCC). The concert will also feature music groups from DBS Primary Division and DBS Secondary Division.

Seats are limited. The ticket request form and the Sponsorship form (See attached) should be sent to Sonia Huen or Maggie Ho by email dsoba.music2015@gmail.com or by post to Diocesan School Old Boys’ Association Limited, 131 Argyle Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong by April 10th.

HKSKH Schools Alumni Choral Festival – Jun 20

Dear Fellow Old Boys:

You are cordially invited to attend a special concert hosted by Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (香港聖公會) –

The First HKSKH Schools Alumni Choral Festival (the “Festival”)

Date & Time:  Jun 20, 2015 (Sat) 2:00pm
Venue: Yunni & Maxine Pao Auditorium, Diocesan Boys’ School, 131 Argyle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon

The Festival is an unprecedented joint school music event uniting eight schools under the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (HKSKH), namely Bishop Hall Jubilee School, Diocesan Boys’ School, Diocesan Girls’ School, Heep Yun School, St. Paul’s College, St. Paul’s Co-educational College, St. Stephen’s College and St. Stephen’s Girls’ College.  For the first time, alumni choirs and orchestras from these schools will all get together to perform on the same stage. 

Besides being a musical concert, the Festival is also a major charitable event.  Proceeds from the concert will be contributed to the HKSKH educational fund to aid needy schools under the HKSKH.

The Festival is going to make its debut at the DBS Auditorium on Jun 20, 2015.  The DSOBA Choir will be performing three pieces at the Festival.  Both our DSOBA Choir and DSOBA Orchestra will also join with other alumni choirs and orchestras to perform at the finale!

1.       TICKETS – Only a limited number of tickets have been allocated to the DSOBA.  If you are interested in attending the concert on Jun 20, please send the completed Ticket Request Form (attached) together with your cheque made payable to ‘香港聖公會‘ by post to Sonia Huen / Maggie Ho (Tel: 2713-5268) at the DSOBA Office (address: DSOBA c/o Diocesan Boy’s School, 131 Argyle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon) by June 5, 2015.  For a donation of HK$500 or HK$1000, you will be entitled to one ticket.  Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.  Sonia and Maggie will help us to consolidate the forms and submit them to HKSKH. 

2.       SPONSORSHIP & RECEIPTS – if you are interested in further supporting the Festival through sponsorship, please also complete the Sponsorship Form attached.  Official receipts (for both tickets and sponsorship) for tax deduction purposes are available upon request.  Sponsorship and official receipts will be handled by HKSKH.  Please contact Christine Lee (Tel: 2713-9983) of HKSKH for further enquiries regarding sponsorship and official receipts.
