Dear Fellow DBS boys,

Upon learning the news, I managed to make a quick visit to Toronto this weekend and joined my classmates (as shown from left to right: Daniel, Joseph, Manson, William, me and David) in attending the service at R. S. Kane at 6150 Yonge Streeton Sunday afternoon.  We met with Jimmy Farrington (he is a DBS boy but a good 10 classes or so behind us…

Image

William called and spoke with Jimmy a few times before Sunday), his mother and sister and several other old boys (Eugene Wilson and Clive of ’81, several really "senior” boys from class of ’54  to ’70 and in between).  I noted that there were wreaths from our class, class of 1981, and TWO identical wreaths from class of 1975.  There were some of the more recent pictures of Mr. Farrington posted at the funeral home.  His two toddler grandchildren were also there.  Apparently they family took it well and remained in decent spirit.

We took our picture (attached) as we left the building.  It was one of those strange moments we did not know whether to smile for the camera or not. Allow me to thank William for putting in his time and effort in organizing for our appearance, and spent more than a full day taking good care of me.

Happy New Year and

Best regards,

Peter Yam ‘ 78
