History of DBS in wikipedia 05

The history of DBS dates back to March 1860, when the Honorary Lady Robinson decided to establish a girls’ school known as the ‘Diocesan Native Female Training School’. A DBS FUND-RAISING EVENT
co-organized by

September 10, 2004

Dear parents, old boys, teachers, students and friends of DBS,

This year, more than any in the past, marks a crucial watershed period for our School, as we celebrate 135 years of achievements and prepare ourselves for the challenges and excitement of the future. We are extremely pleased the new primary division at DBS was successfully commissioned this September – a key milestone for DBS.

DBS has a continuous improvement program to upgrade the School's facilities and learning environment for our boys. There is a plan to build a new sports centre and state-of-the-art boarding school facilities for the Secondary Division. To accomplish this program, it is necessary to run a successful fund raising campaign for DBS.

You are cordially invited to join the 135th Anniversary Dinner – a fund raising event for the School and an occasion to renew friendships amongst DBS boys, parents, teachers and friends. Do not miss this unique opportunity to join fellow DBS boys, past and present, parents and friends of DBS on Saturday, 27th November 2004 at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, New Wing, as we grace the occasion with an evening of music, dance and dinner.

Tickets for 135 tables will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Further information can be obtained from Ms. Eva Mok (Secretary of Fund Raising Committee) at 9236-9039, Ms. Amy Au Yeung (Secretary of DSOBA) at 2713-5268 or Ms. M. C. Chan (Teacher Librarian of DBS) at 2768-5635.

We look forward to seeing you at the 135th Anniversary Dinner.
